Nowadays, the increase in demand of Internet usage requires the development and enlargement of network systems which results in the neccessity of optimal network management to guarantee quality of service. To do so, network systems need to be monitored continuously. Previously, the solution for network monitoring is based on employees : technicians directly manage and monitor to detect and repair incidents. Through time, it indicated some disadvantages such as waste of human resources and operation cost. Furthermore, network systems can expand significantly that is beyond human capacity of management which leads to low efficiency. Therefore, using a Network Monitoring System can help network administrators manage, maintain, optimize and troubleshoot better. A Network Monitoring System is an automatic system which makes it the most optimal. This system will use Simple Network Management Protocol to discover incidents and notify technicians through emails, messages by applying Simple Mail Transfer Protocol and Application Programming Interface. All these processes will be accomplished automatically. Some additional features such as Failover Solution will be integrated to support and increase the system’s performance. Network environment is configured to ensure high security and stable connection to avoid stealing and interupting data. On the other hand, this thesis also describes how to set up an ideal physical server from bare-metal to obtain a typical network monitoring system. Thank to this solution, work-load and cost are reduced remarkably. Without observing continuosly, technicians can be notified about incidents in various ways as soon as possible. Troubleshooting time, therfore, decreases respectively. In conclusion, transmission lines are monitored all the time to ensure high quality of service.vi
