dc.description.abstractThe object of this project is to develop an imaging algorithm that can easily identify vegetation that can harm power lines. The overall procedure is divided into four stages. The first stage includes the acquisition of initial reference and scene image frames. The second stage step is to identify power lines and the third stage is to detect the level of encroached vegetation. If the vegetation is encroached above a certain level (height) and approaches near the save field (width), an alarm will be made to the operators residing at the base station to trim the endangering encroachments.
